PEOPLE'S JOURNAL YOU SAY!?
<n00b> who are the characters?
From left to right: Andy, Fnord, Epsilon, Bloodtoaster, Goomba, Inny,
Ghost, Xemn, Lyll, Wendy, Megas, and Blob. Anyone left out was too busy
to show up on the day when they hired the camera guy.
<n00b> whats the story all about?
Inny is a young homeowner, aspiring evil villain,
and a member of both the 2993 Conspiracy and Project Meme Control.
The administration of both organizations thinks its funny to send their
operatives to live at Inny's house.
<n00b> how did the people's journal start?
It started as an egocentric blog way back near 2001,
and migrated back and forth until 2003 when it was finally established.
Initially, it was half comic, half blog. Around May of 2004, the blogging
part was dropped, due to lack of interest. The "official" first comic
featuring Inny and Fnord, sucked, and was part of an informal "who can
draw a comic faster" competition on the IRC.
<n00b> how are these made?
I keep a collection of stamps and backgrounds, and for
each comic pull off many "copy + paste" actions. A typical issue takes
between 30 minutes and an hour to produce. Inny and Fnord are the only
original artwork, everything else is hopefully covered by fair-use.
<n00b> where do you get the inspiration for these?
Ironically, I still use real life events as the basis
for a wide set of these. Of course, it's very exaggerated and jumbled up,
so no one character can be compared to any living person. However, a clever
eye who knows the full story can catch the elements. For instance, at the end
of october and start of november (2005), I actually had to lay insulation
under my house, and had joked with family members about the house getting
up and running away.
<n00b> why do you make these?
Purely entertainment on my own part. If you don't get
a particular joke, you can bank on it being used as a way to horrify
people that I know personally. I'm revealing my schadenfreude now, because
everyone involved has already figured this out on their own.
<n00b> what is your update schedule?
I don't keep one, because I wouldn't be able to keep
up with it. However, my going rate is about eight issues a month, which
would put it about every 3.875 days. I never sit on these either, so
as soon as I'm done with one, it's uploaded. There's an RSS feed that
automatically updates, so your best bet it to subscribe to it and
check it at the end of the week.
<n00b> can I help to make the journal more popular?
Sure. Spread the word,
vote on it,
whatever you want to do. Just, bear in mind that the reputation of my comic
is reflected by how annoying my fans are. That means don't irritate the hell
out of people. I've had this happen to me before, where I have to take the
blame for how annoying my fanboys get, even when I don't know any of them.
<n00b> cans i have a cameo?
explode 15
I shall never love again.
